Grading/Excavation
It all starts from the ground up.
Like most great works of art, it all begins on a great canvas. Grading is the basis for all the work we do and we take pride in being one of the best in the business. The ground work is what sets us up to give our customers the best job possible. Not only do we have decades of experience grading, we also come equipped with all the resources necessary to do the best job possible, whether it is asphalt or concrete.
How we get it done.
It all begins by surveying the surrounding areas, this includes taking detailed measurements with a walk-wheel and recording elevations with a transit(rotary laser level). Then we proceed with our skid-steer to remove any layers of spoils or vegetation that may damage the integrity of the planned pavement. We also have a dozer and backhoe that may be used depending on the scale of the project at hand.
Expert Excavation
Here at Action Asphalt we pride ourselves on being an excavation and groundwork service that you can trust. Our crews are trained to be mindful of safety, efficiency, quality, and consistency. Our foreman on site working in conjunction with our construction equipment and operator, ensure these values are being upheld.
Any large-scale excavation projects, especially those in commercial industries, will only be performed after an inspection from MISDIG (811). This ensures our safety as well as giving our clients peace-of-mind that their interests are being protected.

Every Action Asphalt project is built on a strong foundation provided by our detail-oriented fine grade crew.
Need a cheaper alternative to hot mix asphalt or concrete?
Refined asphalt millings and 21AA crushed concrete are a more inexpensive alternative to other paving options that Action Asphalt provides.
Materials: Millings v. 21AA Crushed Concrete
Millings:
Refined asphalt millings come from old asphalt that has been removed and pulverized into a fine gravel like material helping reduce material waste as it is 100% recycled. While it does not have any active oils in it, it still has a slight ability to heat and bind due to residual bitumen left in the aggregate. This gives it an edge over traditional gravel driveways as it will maintain its integrity longer and not be as susceptible to vegetation growth. The cost saving benefits are very enticing when it comes to going with millings over hot asphalt paving. Not only do you save on the initial cost of materials, but you will also save on maintenance costs not having to apply sealcoat every other year.
21AA Crushed Concrete:
21AA is also a 100% recycled material that comes from crushing concrete, with the number denoting the size of the stone in the aggregate. Crushed concrete is the material we utilize when addressing subbases. The angulated nature of the stone causes it to lock together when compacted by our vibratory rollers providing a good solid base to work from. 21AA can also be used as the final product for less used areas such as farm trails and country driveways. 21AA however will need annual grading, if not more frequent depending on the level of traffic, as well as reinstalling more gravel over time. This is mostly due to the high level of erosion from water and surface traffic that will occur.
